Chemigate Expands Use of Tracking Cloud with Supplier Management Solutions

18/03/2026 by Bluugo

Chemigate, one of the leading biopolymer manufacturers in the Nordics, has been using Bluugo's Tracking Cloud® platform to digitalize and automate its order-to-delivery supply chain since 2021. During spring 2026, the platform's use will be extended to cover supplier management as well.

The long-standing strategic partnership between Bluugo and Chemigate continues to deepen, as the company expands its use of the Tracking Cloud® platform into supplier management.

Chemigate Group is a Finnish company that manufactures and sells bio-based products derived from starch and other polysaccharides for technical applications. The collaboration between Chemigate and Bluugo began in 2021, when Chemigate adopted Bluugo's Tracking Cloud® platform for the comprehensive digitalization and automation of its order-to-delivery supply chain.

Supplier Management Requirements Are Evolving Rapidly – Driven by Both Customers and Regulators

Chemigate has long been a forerunner in sustainability – a clear testament to this is its EcoVadis Platinum Medal, an award granted to only 1% of companies. In recent years, however, the need to collect, manage, and share supplier data has grown rapidly in response to new regulations (e.g. NIS2). At the same time, customers are increasingly demanding more information related to sustainability, product safety, and value chain traceability. Companies will need to be able to demonstrate full, real-time compliance across their supply chains – managing all this information manually would be extremely burdensome and slow.

Operational Tools and Compliance in One Package

Bluugo's Tracking Cloud® provides comprehensive tools for managing both rapidly evolving regulatory requirements (e.g. NIS2, CRA, EUDR, ESPR, DPP) and operational procurement needs through a single shared platform.

By extending its existing Tracking Cloud® solution into supplier management, Chemigate will be able to manage its supplier data more efficiently, consolidating all relevant sustainability, quality, and operational procurement information into one system. This enables the company to pursue its ambitious sustainability goals in a more structured and transparent way, while also reducing supplier risks and streamlining operational processes.

EUDR status update: EU Commission publishes long-awaited specifications – timeline remains the same

On 4 May 2026, the European Commission published a long-awaited simplification review of the EU Deforestation Regulation. The update contains some changes to the regulation’s requirements as well as clarifications to previous rulings but the core message remains clear: EUDR is moving firmly toward enforcement, with no further delays to the application timeline on the table.

Regulations Change but a Transparent Value Chain Remains a Competitive Advantage

The European Parliament has voted to postpone the EU Deforestation Regulation until the end of 2026. Progress is also being made on the broader “Omnibus” simplification package, which aims to ease reporting and due diligence obligations. These ongoing regulatory changes have prompted many companies to reassess the transparency of their value chains from a new perspective.

EUDR Status Update – The Original Timeline Holds With Proposed Changes to the Requirements

The European Commission has announced that it will not propose a postponement of the EU Deforestation Regulation for large or medium-sized companies – meaning the regulation will still apply at the end of 2025. However, the Commission is proposing amendments to the regulation’s content to reduce reporting requirements for certain operators and ease the workload on the TRACES information system.
